TF1 Group is the leading media group in France with a mission to inform and entertain. It broadcasts its programmes mainly through its television channels, which are the group’s traditional business. TF1 has also developed complementary activities as a source of growth through its digital division, with the production of audio-visual content.

 
Challenges

TF1’s three major challenges 
In the digital transformation of TF1’s HR, the transformation of the organisational, process and information system levels posed the greatest challenge. “The HR transformation involved three important areas: from an organisational point of view, we wanted to create a more agile company structure; from a process point of view, we needed to review all processes to make them simpler and better aligned with market practices. 

In addition, we intended to introduce a new and simpler information system (HRIS) for HR managers and employees,” explains Fabrice Sericola, Director of HR Shared Services, TF1.

Choosing SAP SuccessFactors 
The SAP SuccessFactors programme package with all its integrated modules offered itself as the best solution for the needs of the TF1 Group. 
The project was divided into 3 phases that started between June and December 2016. ARAGO Consulting helped the group to implement the conversion of their HRIS in a very short time and go live in only 9 months. 

Most of the available modules were implemented, such as Employee Central, which consolidates all employee data, Recruiting, which enables the publication of job offers on the group’s career website, and Onboarding, which manages the onboarding of new employees and provides a digital platform for candidates before their first day in the company

Solution

The integration of UKG HR Service Delivery
As TF1 already had SAP SuccessFactors, the group’s next step was to turn to UKG’s solutions, specifically the UKG HR Service Delivery for SuccessFactors application, which enables fast and reliable integration.

“The roles in this project were equally divided between SuccessFactors, ARAGO and UKG. The technical areas were mainly taken care of by ARAGO Consulting, while the functional part and interfaces were set up by UKG, particularly regarding the requirements of the document classification scheme and employee files,” says Mélisande Herrmann.
 
TF1 initially opted for UKG Document Manager (UKG’s solution for managing employee files) and electronic signature. The group also worked on automatic document creation via SuccessFactors and the integration of these documents into UKG.
 
On TF1’s side, “we used a multidisciplinary team for the project. The team included an expert in payroll, an expert in operational HR and an expert in HRIS. We received further support from our IT department,” says Mélisande Herrmann.

“Today the UKG HR Service Delivery for SuccessFactors solution has enabled us to improve our efficiency. The digitisation of HR documents and electronic signatures genuinely allows us to shorten our processes.”

Simple and efficient processes
"Today, the UKG solution has enabled us to gain in efficiency. The dematerialisation of HR documents as well as the electronic signature really allow us to shorten the processes, especially for contract signatures", says Fabrice Séricola.
 
Data security guaranteed
"Furthermore, thanks to the UKG solution, data security is guaranteed, since it is in a completely secure space. This is very reassuring, particularly in view of current legislative developments", explains Fabrice Séricola.
 
Good acceptance of the solutions and a modernised group image 
The solution was quickly adopted, and the responses were incredibly positive. The HR department has fully endorsed the tool and the employees were able to quickly discover the electronic signature section, which is very much appreciated. These new tools have also improved the group's image both internally and externally.
